The popular Bobtail Commander is now available in the Valor series in the form of the V-Bob. The Valor series is our flagship line, meaning it's the best we have to offer. Frankly, we feel it is the best built production 1911 on the market.
The V-Bob is loaded with features, including a forged Bobtail frame with 25 LPI checkering front and back, an undercut trigger guard, Heinie Ledge Straight Eight night sights, VZ slim line G10 grips, EGW carry bevel bushings, Ed Brown grip safety and mainspring housings, as well as our tool-steel fire controls and other premium small parts. Every piece that goes into the Valor series is hand-fit, polished and blended to provide you with not only the best functioning gun we can provide, but also the best looking.
The V-Bob can be had with either a matte stainless glass bead finish or our super durable black Duty finish. This finish is a ceramic base-coating that has set the standard for all coating tests. No polymer-based coating can compare.

I was lucky enough to find one of these gems at one of the big online stores. Purchased it on the spot and was delivered to my FFL in 3 days. Me immediate impression in one word - WOW!!! This thing is amazing!!! Slide to frame fit is outstainding and the duty coat is the best I've seen. I can honestly say that this 1911 gives LB's, WC's and EB's a run for thier money and can be had for much less. ANOTHER GREAT 1911 FROM DAN WESSON - THANK YOU!!!
I wanted to share my experience with the V-Bob and CZ-USA/Dan Wesson. I had a minor problem with my V-Bob and I contacted Operations with Dan Wesson. Within minutes I had a reply from their operations manager with a resolution to my problem. This was an extraordinarily timely response even in the midst of manic firearm demands and despite Dan Wesson relocating its manufacturing facility. Very well done and I appreciate an organization that can supply quality service matching the quality of their product. THANK YOU! Rod
Here is an update on BC VBOB matt SS. The gun is broken in and is operating to such a high degree that it will become my CHL carry. Shooting 20 yds a very effective pattern due to my lack of skill but I am working on that. Shooting at 7 yds groups that take a 1" bull out. Had an issue with a grip screw that was defective and cracked. No ifs ands or buts I had a replacement in hand with in a week. Not only do they build a great handgun but you will get outstanding service after the sale. I own 10 handguns and this one is the one I keep taking to the range over and over. Spoiled would be a good word. Oh ya, I want another one, soon.
Please make a 9 mm version of this too! love its SS frame!
Stopped in a local gun store just to look. Came out with the New V BOB stainless steel. Held it and it was one of those things that told me take it home. First day at the range the rear sight was never torqued properly and it drifted to the left on its own. Got it home and made the proper adjustment to the rear sight. Back to the range the second day. Punched the center of the bulls eye out. What an outstanding handgun. 300 rounds to date breaking it in. I own another brand top of the line .45 race gun. The V BOB handles and shoots better. Hats off guys you build a great gun.
Us Type-A personalities are detail oriented and often "over" think things. But in the end we find the best. Although I enjoyed my C-Bob I sold it thinking I needed a $3K + 1911. After a few of those I later found myself realizing Dan Wesson was my real home and now own a V-Bob as my Every Day Carry and IDPA shooter. It was half the price of the others I owned and has been flawless out of the box! Make it your first choice...
Look at what Grayguns had to say: http://sigforum.com/eve/forums/a/tpc/f/430601935/m/8460088672 I bought two instead of a Wilson: Valor Bobtail Commander and Valor SS. All I can say is DW is awesome! No MIM parts, G10 grips, etc., etc. I carry everyday, and love my DW. After I'm gone, don't pry it from my hands. I'm taking mine with me, when I'm gone...back to pistol heaven, where it came from.
After well over 6 months of research on which 1911 should be my first, I chose The Dan Wesson Vallor Bobtail. Nothing but flawless fit, finish & performance. If you are trying to navigate the myriad of 45 cal. 1911 choices and are considering a Dan Wesson, my advice is; pay the price or buy it twice.
Recently I purchased my 3rd new DW, this time it was the V-Bob. It seems to me that every year the folks at DW keep on getting better and better. In 2009 I said to myself "How are they gonna improve on my Classic Commander? In 2010 they did it again, and in 2011 the Quality, along with the Fit and Finish just oozes out of my new V-Bob. It scaringly can hold its own with the likes of similar 1911's costing $1000 more. Here a pic of the first 5 rounds out of my V-Bob, this was at 21ft with WWB ammo.
WOW, what a gun. Even before I added a Sprinco Recoil Reducer with a 16# spring and have hardly no barrel flip. Very accurate
As a new VBob owner what can I say it lept from the counter into my holster and never looked back. Once home and under microscopic scrutiny a small concern came up which once CZ was notified they were able to clarify and rectify. I am so impressed by the quality of their line of 1911's that I had to share. Add to that the top quality of their service reps and what an unbeatable combination. The folks at Cz are great, I thank you for your help and showing me that no matter how small a concern you are ready and willing to do whatever you can. Greatly appreciated,
as a shooter first, and instructor. I have to coment on these two guns. Outstanding fit finsh and QC.Both perform what every shooter wants reliability fit and feel, the cz-83 is the best 380 auto out there only weight could be and issue, but clearly performace and control is where these guns are at. I dont work for CZ or make any claims, am just telling you these two pistols are it! Thank you cz Joe savastano
