We have combined the best features from two of our most popular models, the Bobtail Commander and the CCO. The new Guardian has the bobtail frame to help reduce printing when carrying concealed, and the alloy frame, makes it light enough for comfortable full time carry.  The commander length slide and alloy frame give it just the right feel and balance.  The Guardian wears the handsome and durable black “Duty” finish from Dan Wesson. If you are looking for a lightweight, commander-sized 1911 in either 9mm or .45 ACP, don't pass up the Guardian.

      I've owned many 1911 platform pistols over the past 45 years, but the Guardian 9mm is something special. Fit and finish are without peer, weight and balance are exceptional. The Guardian is the nicest carry pistol I own. A HUGE "Well Done" to Dan Wesson!

      Purchased my Guardian 45 almost a year ago and have carried it full time every since. The Kimber I had prior to purchasing the DW cannot compare to the way this thing feels and shoots. I would highly recommend this pistol to anyone looking for a custom 1911 without the custom 1911 pricing.

      Bill this is the big brother to the one that I have in 9mm. I can carry mine all day long and not notice the weight. This is the first handgun that I have been able to shoot right out of the box I did not ever have to adjust the sights. I feel that you would be happy with any of the three. I carry my Dan Wesson and use my Smith &Wesson for matches. If I can be of further help feel free to contact me. Chief

      Recently purchased a new Guardian .45 and immediately participated in a Tactical Handgun course in Kansas City. The gun performed flawlessly; better than my Kimber had previously. I am very happy with my decision to go with the DW rather than another Kimber. Thanks DW!

      2 years ago I bought the Dan Wesson Classic Bob-Tail on advise of a competition shooter...what a fabulous gun. A couple of months ago I bought the 9mm Guardian...it's everything the Classic Bobtail is but lighter & of course, less recoil. They are both fantastic guns...you won't beleive your groups.

      This firearm is joy to shoot. It feels just right in hand with the bobtail. Being an alloy frame it's very light, but has enough weight to keep the recoil at a minimum for quicker target acquisition. It's almost scary how easy it is to shoot this firearm from how comfortable in hand it feels along with the minimal recoil.
