CZ P-06
Product Description

The P-06 is the .40 S&W version of the 9mm CZ 75 P-01 model.

The P-01 9mm was designed for LE and Military duty, but its compact size and the reduced weight due to its forged alloy frame made it ideal for discrete carry as well. Equipped with a decocker, the P-01 provides convenience for those who prefer hammer-down carry.

The P-01 was the first CZ model to benefit from updated manufacturing technology at CZ's Uhersky Brod factory. The components of the P-01/P-06 are completely interchangable with every other P-01/P-06, with no individual fitting required. This required some very careful re-design so that the reliability and accuracy were not impaired. Since the time of its introduction (designed in 2001, NATO-approved in 2003) the production upgrades have been rolled out to most of the CZ 75 family and several new rifle models as well. The 1913 accessory rail easily accepts any of the industry-standard lights and lasers to assist low-light use. After 3 years of some of the most aggressive small arms testing ever, the CZ P-01 won the honor of replacing the CZ 75s previously used by the Czech National Police.

Reliability: The U.S. Army "Mean Rounds Between Failure" (MRBF) requirement is 495 rounds for 9mm pistols. During testing of the CZ P-01, the average number of stoppages was only 7 per 15,000 rounds fired. This is a .05% failure rate or an MRBF of 2142!

For many years, the P-01 carried an NSN engraved on its frame, making it the first NATO-spec pistol ever available to the public. Recently, the factory decided to upgrade the slide stop spring which in turn means the current models may not carry the NSN.

I just bought my P-06 a little over a week ago and just got home from the range. I could not be happier! The gun fit my hand like it was custom made and a natural point was easily achieved! Perceived recoil was non- existent, accuracy was acceptable (as good as I can shoot at 25 meters in the cold and blowing rain), and the sights were easy to find and see. All in all I couldn't be happier! I am a CZ fan for life!

Several years back I bought a second hand CZ 75 Compact in .40 Smith. I have ran over 2,000 rounds thru it with only 3 instances of failure to feed properly. I also am the owner of a Browning HP-40 or Browning Hi-Power in .40 Smith. I must admit I have been more pleased with the CZ performance than the Browning. Will I sell the Browning??? NO!!! But, I will buy another CZ Pistol!!! Hopefully one chambered in 45 acp...

I only buy CZ for the quality and the costs. I have several different CZ as well. But my favorite is the all steel version which is no longer made. It is my all day carry gun and i love it.

My first impressions was great, just blown away by how nice it looked and everything it came with(spare mag, lock, cleaning tools, etc.) A little later I realized the DA trigger pull was fairly gritty. It also looked as if the slide may have been dropped and is appeared as if they had attempted to sand off the marks. It didn't take long to get that nice and smooth myself, so it wasn't a big deal. As far as the trigger goes, 300 rounds and over 1,000 dry fires later, it still feels pretty gritty. I've only fired the pistol in the decocked and SA positions though which are each pretty decent. The SA release is actually pretty crisp, which is nice. All things considered, there's more quality in this pistol than I'd expect out of any $650 pistol. Really, this is a very nice gun, it handles incredibly well. It's very well balanced with the weight of the slide and the recoil is very manageable. I'm not the best shot, but I hit pretty damn close to where I'm aiming. It's a little on the big/bulky side for concealed carry, but with an Uncle Mike's 'in the pants' holster, it's surprisingly comfortable to carry for extended periods of time. I'd really like to mention how solid this gun feels, every part of it is very mechanically sound. No unnecessary moving parts, the barrel is rock solid with the slide locked back. I've seen some pistols that have a good half inch of wiggle room on their barrels with the slide locked back as well as other parts that make the thing seem like it'll fall apart in your hands. Not this gun, it has to be the most solid feeling and functioning firearm I've ever held in my hands. This is pretty lengthy, so let me conclude with this. I am amazed with the quality for the price and couldn't be any happier with my purchase. I'll be looking into getting a rifle from this company in the near future. You can not go wrong buying from CZ. Excellent quality at a fair price!

Wow . Just picked up my P-06 this morning first thing when I arrived home from Kansas City , MO . Hard to believe I work less than 10 minutes from CZ in Kansas City, KS but still have to drive 700 miles to get my pistol. But, I must say I am extremely happy I did. This gun feels so good in your hand, the balance is amazing and points to aim so accurately and quick. Have not ever held any other pistols that so ergonomically right for a person's hand. Didn't realize it till today but it has tru glo night sights on it. Another plus. Now just have to make time to get out and shoot it.

I just put a CZ 75 P-06 in layaway at my local FFL dealer. Can't wait to get it out. Also looking for an OD Green P-07 in 9mm and CZ 85 combat . I've searched 6 states and can't find either one that anybody wants to sell.

I had no experience with CZ products until an acquaintance purchased a CZ 75b and let me shoot it. From then, I just knew I had to have one. The grip felt great and the gun barely recoiled with the 9mm ammo. However, the 75b, being all steel, seemed a little heavy for me. Fortunately, after checking out an alloy framed P06, I was in love. I've since shot over 12M rounds of 40 over two years, including having participated in IDPA with the gun, with barely any issues. With a lighter main spring and competition LPA sights (from CZ custom), the gun is a pleasure to shoot, and shoot it does very accurately. The only issues encountered were due to my own handloads. The gun continues to functions perfectly. I can't recommend this gun too highly. Thanks, CZ!

My P-06 has been my everyday carry for about 1-1/2 year, 3000+ rounds through it and not one FTF/FTE! I take it to IDPA events in sub-zero temperatures (COLD Michigan winters), punish it with 300 rounds in 1/2 hour... it goes bang every time and it's ready for more. It's very accurate with an incredibly manageable recoil that makes it easy to bring back on target for the next shot. Easy to break down and clean, just an all around great gun. I'm a CZ customer for life!

Did tons of research of several more expensive pistols and chose the CZ75-P06 without ever holding one. Incredibly comfortable and shoots like a dream! Its accuracy out-shoots my kool-aid drinking buddies on the range every time!

Bought P-06 in Jan. 2011, like the grip and feel but trigger pull was hvy. at 6 lbs. SA so had local gunsmith work over pull and action. Now 4.25 lb. SA, 8.5 lb. DA and smooth as glass. Shoot over 600 rds. in six months. Groups 2-3" at 25 yds. with rest, 5" offhand (10 shots). Very fine weapon and exceptional accuracy. Weight and feel is unsurpassed in amm metal handgun.

I bought this pistol from a buddy of mine about 2 year ago when I decided to downgrade from a .45 (very expensive round to shoot.) He let me shoot a full clip and I fell in love. I enjoy the small compact design but still has the muscle behind it. The recoil isn't bad at all and i can keep the rounds to a 6" cluster from about 35 yards now. The gun doesn't jam and it very easy to clean. Keep up the good work CZ you have a loyal customer for life now!

The P-06 .40 is a gem of a handgun. Is CZ keeping this gun a secret? Where is the marketing?? This is severly underrated and overlooked. The grip fits naturally to your hand like a glove. Few, if any, compact guns in .40 cal have a grip that is this comfortable. Most are small, rigid and feel mechanical. The aluminum frame has the solid feel of steel yet is almost as light as polymer, but still has a balanced heft that is not top-heavy like polymer handguns. Like all CZ 75s, it is very accurate, easy to control aim, and easy to clean. As a compact, the P-06 is a comfortable carry that packs a .40 cal punch, yet feels like a 9MM. And still fun to shoot at the range. Before you buy your next 9 or .40, at least hold a P06 in your hand and give it a chance. Friends that have fired it are always suprised by it and wonder what it is. They call it a little giant of a handgun.
