The CZ 85 Combat adds a fully adjustable rear sight, extended magazine release, drop-free magazine and overtravel adjustment on the trigger. The Combat designation comes from the lack of a firing pin block safety, allowing the replacement of the firing pin without tools.
Ambidextrous features include safety levers, slide stop levers and a reversible magazine release. The lack of a firing pin safety gives the 85 Combat a slight advantage in the trigger pull department, making it a long-time favorite of competition shooters.

I have had many guns over the years, and I have to say that when it comes to guns my personal philosophy is, "The tougher and the simpler, the better.". I currently own four CZ Handguns: CZ-75 BD, CZ-75 D Compact, CZ-75 Subcompact, and CZ-P01. The first two are my primary and back up pistol. I carry them and use them constantly. They have never jammed, misfired, and they surpass any other handguns as far as consistent accuracy. Even full of dirt, powder residue, or water, none of my CZs have ever fouled the accuracy or function of the weapon. The interior slide system is a major factor in accuracy and performence, as this design does not allow dirt to find its way into the slide grooves, and improves accuracy by reducing muzzle climb and kickback. Also, you can strip and clean the weapon in seconds. I've actually stripped and dryed the internals in the pouring rain and dark, with not a single hiccup. CZs are tough, accurate, user friendly, and does the job it was made to do without fail everytime it is called into action.
I bought this gun some years ago at the suggestion from a friend and it is my favorite firearm. I am left handed so ambidexterous controls are really a good idea. My hands are not big and this gun fits my hand very well. I shoot accurately and highly reccomend this gun. I did have some problems with the slide lock but I sent it back to CZ and it was repaired for nothing. Thanks for a fine quality gun CZ.
I just got my CZ85 Combat and it is a really great 9mm pistol. The manufacturing quality is very good, and the accuracy is excellent.
Owned my CZ85 Combat for less than a year, with 300 rounds through it. It's accurate and so easy to shoot. I like the absence of redundant safeties so it's very simple. Very little recoil. It also fits my slightly larger hands perfectly. Did I mention it looks good? (satin nickel). I'm very comfortable with it as a personal defense and range gun. Makes me look way better than I really am.
After being a fan of the browning hi-power for two decades of shooting I finally fired a new friends CZ-75 and found over all I like it a tad better than the browning and was suprised at how much less expensive it is. Plan on buying two this year for me and the wife.
I own two polymer 9mm pistols from rival companies. About 2 months ago, I rented a CZ-75B, and it was love at first grip. After going through 50 rounds, I knew I would own a CZ pistol someday. That day came this past weekend when I picked up a CZ 85 Combat. After running 150 rounds, this pistol is the most accurate 9mm pistol I've shot. The balance and weight is perfect. I run a Rainer Ballistics/Hodgdon recipe - and I have the tightest grouping with my CZ. If you're reading this and contemplating picking up a CZ - just do yourself a favor and get one! If you can find one!
I picked up my first CZ75 about two years ago and since than I have picked up 7 more including the 85 combat that my wife got me for Xmas that she liked so much it is now hers, but I will get my own. The one I want the most is a 75B Champion, but from what I have seen out there this has to be one of the most sought after pistols out there. Who ever owns them they are hanging on to them and not letting them go. If anybody has one for sale please email me. CZ-USA keep up the good work looks like you have some cool new pistols out for 2012.
i have had the privilege of owning a few CZ firearms. However my favorite will always be the CZ-85 Combat Pistol. The first one i had was stolen and after a few years i was able to track another one down, and i took it to the range and it felt like it had never gone lost it
